The Clarison Group is celebrating women and their achievements in the construction industry by continuing to work towards a more equitable world for all. This International Women’s Day, get to know the women in our team and the incredible contribution they bring to our business.

Tell us a bit about yourself…

I joined the business in 2020 after previously holding similar roles at Saint-Gobain’s Glassolutions and within SIG PLC’s Energy Management sector. I have worked in the construction industry for 17 years of which 14 years have been in a business improvement capacity.

What is your proudest achievement whilst working at The Clarison Group?

I would say the rollout of the Group-wide collaboration programme in which a number of projects have been successfully implemented including Digitalisation & Sustainability initiatives. These projects allow colleagues across the group to share best practice, knowledge, and experience to add benefit to all businesses within the group.

How do you succeed in a male dominated environment?

By just being yourself and working to your strengths, that way, no matter what industry you work in, your success is based on your achievements.

Tell us a bit about yourself…

I began working in the construction industry over nine years ago and joined Alucraft Systems at the beginning of this year. I am excited to be working for a growing business and to contribute towards its continued success.

What is your proudest achievement whilst working at The Clarison Group?

My proudest achievement in my career is receiving my MCIOB chartership in 2018. It was a great moment to be recognised for all my hard work and to be seen as a professional within the industry.

How do you succeed in a male dominated environment?

Although women in the construction industry are still hugely underrepresented, I have noticed over the years that it is now moving in the right direction with regards to being more inclusive.

Which women inspire you the most?

Jacinda Ardern – “I never, ever grew up as a young woman believing that my gender would stand in the way of doing anything I wanted”.

Sabina Babayeva, Purchasing, Alucraft Ireland

Tell us a bit about yourself…

I’ve been working in the construction sector for over 10 years now, including 2.5 years working at The Clarison Group. I started my career in Buying by purchasing a wide variety of different requisitions from light materials to heavy equipment. At the moment, my main area of expertise is buying glass which I find very challenging and therefore interesting for me.

What is your proudest achievement whilst working at The Clarison Group?

I’ve gained a deep knowledge in a very specific area – glass, which I think became a turning point in my career as I want to continue to learn and become an expert in the glass purchasing industry.

How do you succeed in a male dominated environment?

Working hard, challenging myself to do something new, pushing myself of out my comfort zone, and thinking to see a bigger picture in everything I do.

Which women inspire you the most?

A lot of people inspire me, both men and women. These are just ordinary people showing a great will to do something great with their lives and working hard to achieve their goals. Step by step, never giving up, moving steadily only forward, and thinking positively is what inspires me the most.

Kamila Maciejewska, Accounts Administrator, Alucraft & Williaam Cox Ireland

Tell us a bit about yourself…

I started working for both Alucraft and Williaam Cox (part of The Clarison Group) in April 2022. Before then, I worked for a small renovations company.

What is your proudest achievement whilst working at The Clarison Group?

By working across two of our business entities, I have developed my organisation skills, learnt to multitask between both company ledgers, and improved my time management by delivering work on time and to a high standard.
